A Dallas-based restaurant concept is planning to open its first Houston-area location in the Regent Square mixed-use development.

Mexican Sugar is currently under construction in Montrose and is estimated to open before the end of 2024, said staff at its Uptown Dallas location via phone.
According to its website, the restaurant celebrates Mexican culture and cuisine in its architecture, flavors and curated cocktails.

Its menu includes dishes such as Mexican Caesar salad, made with baby romaine, pumpkin seeds, Cotija cheese, masa croutons and garlic dressing; bone-in pork chops; and birria ribs.
