New Heights Coffee Roasters opened its first coffee shop inside the Asch Building on Studewood Street in early September.

How it started

New Heights Coffee Roasters started in 2022 as a local roastery involved in importing, roasting and preparing coffee beans in bulk. The coffee beans were then distributed to coffee shops, restaurants and hotels or sold online for people to brew at home.

Charlie McIntyre, director of coffee for NHCR, said the company focuses on micro-lot coffee, which means the coffee is roasted in small batches to exact specifications. Micro lots are often selected for their unique flavor profiles and high quality.

How it's going

New Heights Coffee Roasters has expanded to open its first coffee shop where it uses its own coffee beans to create a different combination of drinks. The shop also uses its own in-house made sugars and syrups.

McIntyre said the menu features a new and innovative rotating seasonal list of items that is more cocktail-like than traditional. Signature beverages include the Elysian, an espresso tonic infused with lavender and ginger syrups and topped with mint, and the Amalfi, a cold brew with caramelized lemons and a touch of olive oil infused with nitrogen and garnished with fresh basil.

One more thing

The shop also offers classics such as the flat white, cappuccino, cold brew and espresso as well as non-coffee items including chai, matcha, lemonade and hot cocoa.

New Heights Coffee Roasters fall menu will launch Oct. 1 with a grand opening celebration following sometime in October.
