An opening date has been set for the new fast-casual Thai concept Thai Tail, coming to the former location of La Fendee in Montrose.

Thai Tail comes from the restaurant group MaKiin Concepts, headed by Lukkaew Srasrisuwan, founder of Kin Dee, M Express Thai Kitchen, and MaKiin. Previously slated to open in May, the new eatery is now on track to open June 20 at 1402 Westheimer Road, Houston.

Once open, the restaurant will offer rice and noodle dishes while specializing in creative takes on Thai cuisine, including the Panang chicken club sandwich and the green curry pork burger. Snacks options will include shrimp nuggets, served with sweet plum sauce, and a beef drunken chili dish served with with spinach tortilla chips, fusing Thai sauces with Tex-Mex chili.

The venue will also feature Thai dessert options and a cocktail menu that will include a Thai-inspired twist on a classic margarita with tequila and tropical fruits.

The 1,200-square-foot restaurant will feature a 24-seat dining room and 36-seat patio space.

"Montrose is one of the most walkable parts of Houston, and Thai Tail is excited to part of such a vibrant neighborhood.” Srasrisuwan said in a statement. “Our menu will appear to all guests seeking an authentic and approachable menu celebrating Thai flavors at reasonable price points.”
