Woodland Social—a new pet-friendly bar offering patio games, gourmet pizza and Astros watch parties—opened March 11 near White Oak Music Hall.

Owners and brothers Justin, West and Brandon Piper said they named the bar after the historic Woodland Heights neighborhood. The trio founded Piper’s Hospitality Group, which also runs Preslee's in Shady Acres and formerly operated Piper's Burgers in the Greater Heights. They teamed up with developer Will Garwood of W2 Development—the commercial real estate development company behind White Oak Music Hall and The Raven Tower—on the new project.

Located on 2 acres, Woodland Social features lawn games, three regulation-size volleyball courts, cabanas, and swings and hammocks. The venue's interior features 21 75-inch TVs, while a 20-foot LED screen can be found on the patio.

Drink options include 20 beers and cider on tap, frozen and handcrafted cocktails, and 30 wine choices. An 80-foot bar offers seating for 32 people, while the overall venue has seating for 172 people indoors and 360 people outdoors.

Food options are centered on pizza, made using a brick oven and housemade dough.

“Woodland Heights lacked a destination for all ages that was family friendly and pet friendly where people could socialize in a lively atmosphere," West Piper said in a statement. "We created this indoor/outdoor entertainment destination that will attract sports watchers, happy hour hangouts, families and people who just want to relax to great music.”
