Less than a year after opening its doors, officials with the Austin-based Picnik restaurant announced in a January social media post they are closing their location at Montrose Collective.

In the Jan. 23 social media post, officials with the restaurant issued their farewell message, thanking guests for making Picnik part of the Montrose community.

"We want to thank our incredible team at Montrose and our wonderful guests for spending time with us. We are saying farewell for now, but we hope to return in the future and see some familiar faces at our other restaurants if your road ever takes you to Austin," officials announced on social media.

The Austin-based Picnik opened in Montrose last spring and offered healthy cafe fare, including keto, paleo, vegetarian and gluten-free options. The venue also had an expansive patio.
