Buena Vista Cuban Cafe aims to bring the spirit of Havana to Memorial Heights.

That’s why officials with the Cuban restaurant and lounge will deliver a live band, professional dancers and cigars rolled on-site with its grand opening celebration Sept. 30, they said. The restaurant began welcoming customers for lunch and live music in mid-August.

Several items on Buena Vista’s menu uphold traditional Cuban cuisine, such as the classic ropa vieja—a dish comprising shredded beef cooked in a tomato-based sauce with garlic, bell peppers, onions, bay leaves and spices. There are also a variety of options for appetizers, entrees, sides, salads, ceviches, sandwiches, desserts and coffee.
