Lukkaew Srasrisuwan, a co-owner with Thai restaurant Kin Dee in the Heights, announced Nov. 7 new plans to open her second concept, a more upscale Thai restaurant in the River Oaks area in spring 2023.

The new concept will be called MaKiin—an invitation that means "come to eat" in Thai—and will occupy the ground floor of the Hanover River Oaks highrise at 2651 Kipling St., Ste. 101, Houston. "MaKiin" also conveys a sense of honor to the invitee, according to a Nov. 7 press release.

“I want to continue to share my love for authentic Thai cuisine with Houstonians and am excited about the opportunity to bring a new concept to the dynamic Kirby corridor,” Srasrisuwan said in a statement. “With Kin Dee we showed Houstonians Thai food can be fun and vibrant. MaKiin will deliver a more elevated experience that will celebrate the artistry of my homeland’s authentic flavors, ingredients and techniques.”
