The new eatery is run by co-founders Pace Webb and Chris Georgalas. The husband and wife launched the first location in Pasadena, California, in 2018.
"We’re so humbled and excited to bring this concept to Houston, not only because I grew up not far from here, but because Houston is well-known for its diversity and culinary scene,” Webb said in a statement. “We look forward to serving Heights residents and beyond by delivering accessible, chef-driven fried chicken sandwiches, while honoring our commitment to sustainability and creating a warm, welcoming environment for all.”
The restaurant specializes in chicken dishes that combine American South cooking styles with Southeast Asian influences, according to the release. Chickens are brined overnight in buttermilk and aromatics and double battered before frying.
Daddy's offers vegan options and an all-day breakfast menu that includes biscuit sliders and waffle chicken sandwiches. Other menu items include bowls, chicken fingers and fries.
The 2,400-square-foot Heights location will also serve as the flagship restaurant, headquarters and training center, according to an Oct. 12 press release. It can seat 50 guests across indoor and outdoor dining areas. Guests can order at drive-up windows, at a walk-up window or inside the building.
An open house is set for 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Oct. 26 and will feature family-friendly activities, coupons and swag bags for the first 100 guests, according to the release.
