Frank’s Americana Revival, a staple of the River Oaks area specializing in regional American dishes, will relocate in early 2023 from its spot on Westheimer Road to the nearby Alexan River Oaks development at 3015 Weslayan St., Houston.

Restaurant officials announced the signing of a lease at the Alexan in a Sept. 20 press release. Construction on a new 6,895-square-foot space that will house the new Frank's will begin in October, according to the release.

“While we are looking forward to capitalizing on this move as an opportunity to refresh certain elements of our concept, we’re planning to keep the heart and soul of Frank’s while providing Houstonians a place where the neighborhood can come together to share their best moments with their best relationships,” owner Michael Shine said in a statement.

The move will give Frank's more space, including room for an expanded bar concept for The White Star Bar. The new venue will also have space to accommodate private dining groups, outdoor patio seating and the debut of a new coffee cafe concept that will operate during the morning hours.

As part of the move, Frank's will also expand its to-go order and catering capabilities with the help of an expanded kitchen space, according to the release.

Shine took over Frank's with his son, Chris Shine, in 2012, at time at which the eatery was known as Frank's Chop House. In a 2019 feature profile with Community Impact Newspaper, Shine spoke about his approach to running the restaurant, including maintaining a personal touch with customers.

The menu offers modern American cuisine alongside popular dishes from different regions of the country, ranging from fish and pastas to buttermilk fried chicken. A wine list includes over 170 wines.

The current location—3736 Westheimer Road, Houston—will remain open until the new restaurant is up and running, according to the release. 713-572-8600. www.frankshouston.com
