Liberty Kitchen & Oysterette in River Oaks, 4224 San Felipe St., opened for dine-in service Aug. 7 after being acquired by Houston hospitality firm Culinary Khancepts.

The Heights location, retained by F.E.E.D. TX Restaurant Group, remains closed for a new concept to be announced at a later date.

“I have always been a big fan and supporter of Liberty Kitchen, and I am thrilled to be able to carry on the legacy of the brand,” Culinary Khancepts CEO Omar Khan said in a release. “Liberty Kitchen has an amazing staff that is anxious to get back to work and provide phenomenal experiences for our guests, friends and families.”

The restaurants closed indefinitely in March amid the COVID-19 outbreak.

Liberty Kitchen's other location at 963 Bunker Hill Road, Memorial City, is reopening Aug. 14. Both locationsare offering indoor and patio dining as well as to-go service, and founding chef Lance Fegen will remain on board. Familiar menu items will return, and some new options will be available, according to the news release.
