Lily Barfield, an antiques dealer and founder of Lily's Vintage Finds, is bringing a new nine bedroom inn and cocktail bar housed in a neoclassical mansion in Montrose, according to a June 28 news release.

What's special about it?

The Marlene is an inn nestled within the Avondale Historic District spanning 18,000 square feet in a three-story mansion, which dates back to the early 1900s, featuring multiple living and dining areas, and a tree-canopied patio for gathering.

The Marlene offers nine individually designed guest rooms, each with private baths and named after a woman who has shaped Barfield's life, with Marlene paying homage to her late grandmother. Throughout the inn, guests will find antiques and artwork hand-selected by Barfield on sourcing trips to France.

What else?

Anchoring the property is Bar Madonna, an intimate cocktail bar open to the public and hotel guests led by Tom Hardy, who was formerly with Hotel Saint Augustine and the Bludorn Group.

Just off the entry, the Marlene will also house a dedicated storefront for Lily's Vintage Finds, a widely followed, Instagram-born brand selling antiques found by Barfield. The boutique will offer a rotating selection of vintage treasures and styling pieces, all sourced and arranged by Barfield.
