“As we navigate this pandemic together, we want to ensure that we are transparent as we provide crucial updates,” HISD interim Superintendent Grenita Lathan said in a news release. “This new dashboard will give our staff members and families the information they need in an accessible and easy-to-use way to make informed decisions.”
According to the district, the dashboard will be updated daily with case counts as well as their campus location. There were 23 total confirmed cases among district students and staff reported as of Sept. 28.
The tool also displays the district's threat assessment level. As of Sept. 28, the district was at Level 1: Red-Severe Risk. The threat levels correspond to guidance from local health officials.
