At the weekly Houston City Council meeting set to take place Jan. 11, council members will vote on the approval of funding for park renovations.

The efforts are a part of the 50/50 Park Partners Initiative Project, a collaboration between the city and the Houston Parks Board to improve 50 neighborhood parks. The proposed agenda item would increase the construction budget for the first nine parks in the plan to over $1.8 million. The city previously agreed to around $3.2 million for the first 11 parks.

This grouping of parks to potentially receive added funding includes $203,540 for Love Park, $193,602 for Nieto Park and $162,900 for Forum Park.
