Balani Custom, a custom suit maker known for its exceptional customer service and expert craftsmanship, opened a new location along Westheimer Road on Oct. 15.

According to an Oct. 7 news release, Balani first opened its Houston doors in 2014. However, after outgrowing its original space, the brand has expanded into a larger, more refined showroom.

The details

The custom tailoring process at Balani includes three steps:

1. Design: Customers can peruse the business's selection of luxury wool, cashmere and silk

2. Craft: The clothier will take over 30 precise measurements and handcraft the suit to the customer's unique build and style preferences

3. Fit: Customers will try on the suit and the clothier will make any necessary adjustments while also recommending accessories to complement the look

Balani also offers a range of luxury custom menswear such as suits, jackets, tuxedoes, shirts, slacks, outerwear and wedding attire.

Some context

Peter Balani founded Balani Custom Clothiers in Chicago in 1961. Peter's son, Sonny, now owns the brand and has expanded to 14 cities nationwide.

The company uses materials that are hand-selected from different mills across Europe. For example, Balani receives its worsted wool from England and its silk and cashmere from a mill in Italy. Each mill also embraces renewable energy, ethical labor practices and eco-conscious production methods, according to the brand's website.
