A new Houston-based consultancy helping early-career job seekers bridge the gap between classroom and career has officially opened, according to a July 8 news release.

The Graduate was created to address the growing disconnect between academic experience and workforce readiness, providing practical, personalized support to help individuals navigate their first steps in the job market, according to the news release.

"So many young professionals have the talent—they just need help transitioning it into confidence, clarity and opportunity," said Laura Denson Glauser, the founder of The Graduate. "That's why we created a program that meets them where they are and helps them harness the power of the job search to take control of their future."

The Graduate offers a human-centered approach rooted in mentorship and individualized strategy, with clients working directly with career experts to identify goals, sharpen their personal brand and build relationships to build opportunities, the news release said. The Graduate offers three core services to support young professionals during the job search:
  • Personalized one-on-one coaching: Sessions are tailored to each individual's goals and circumstances, addressing topics such as career alignment, resume development, interview preparation and networking strategies
  • Small-group workshops: Workshops are in a group setting to foster collaborative learning and peer support
  • Curated job fairs: Provides exclusive in-person networking opportunities and direct exposure to a variety of industry professionals
“Job searching is a lot like training for a marathon," Glauser said. "It’s tough at first, but it gets easier with practice and support. The goal isn’t to win someone else’s race. It’s to help every young professional run their own, with a plan that fits who they are and where they want to go.”


The Graduate’s services are offered in-person are open to all early-career professionals. A college degree is not required. While upcoming job fairs will be announced at a later date, individual sessions and group workshops are available now by appointment only.
