A new indoor pickleball playground is now open in Houston, according to a June 12 news release.

The gist

Drop Shots HTX was founded by hospitality veterans Roveen Abante and Chase Lovullo—who both founded Conservatory Galleria—and Shawn Outlaw.

“We didn’t just want to open as a bar,” Co-founder Roveen Abante said in a statement. “We built a space where people can connect, whether they’re playing or not. There’s something for everyone here.”

Drop Shots HTX is more than just pickleball, it also offers a sleek full bar, indoor courts, a scratch kitchen, a second-floor lounge with arcade games, lounge seating and a 9-screen sports wall that could be used for private events or birthday parties.

“Some venues lean into serious competition, we lean into fun,” Co-founder Shawn Outlaw said. “We’re the only indoor pickleball facility inside the Loop with a full bar, kitchen, lounge and patio. But more than that, we’re the only one that feels like your new favorite neighborhood hangout, even if you never touch a paddle.”
