The newest location of jewelry store gorjana will open Aug. 30 in the Heights Mercantile development at 707 Yale St., Ste. 107, Houston, officials announced July 27.

The Laguna Beach-based brand was founded in 2004 by Gorjana Reidel and Jason Griffin Reidel. It offers plated necklaces, earrings, bracelets and other jewelry in what officials describe as an "effortless, laid-back" style, according to a July 27 news release.

The Heights location is the eighth for gorjana in Texas. Another Houston-area location of gorjana opened in the Montrose Collective in 2022, and a different location is coming to Rice Village in 2024.

“Since we opened our first Texas store in 2021, we’ve been overwhelmed by the warm welcome and Southern hospitality from our shoppers across this extraordinary state,” co-founder Gorjana Reidel said in a statement.

To celebrate the opening of the Heights store, gorjana officials said they will launch a one-day giveback event Aug. 25, prior to the store's opening, in partnership with the Kids In Need Foundation, which helps teachers and students in underresourced schools, according to the release. During the event, 10% of all online and in-store sales will be donated directly to the foundation.
