Velocity, a motorsports and racing simulation lounge, is set to open at the Sawyer Yards art district in early 2025, officials said.

The details

The 5,000-square-foot entertainment venue will feature 16 racing simulators, according to an Oct. 22 news release.

The Houston-born business partnered with gaming studio Authentic Simulation to create a virtual Loop 610, marking the first destination in America to feature its own city in a virtual environment.

What to expect

The racing simulators will feature full-motion systems and immersive 180-degree panoramic displays to create an authentic virtual driving experience, the release states.

Guests can choose from sports car brands, including Porsche and Lamborghini, and race on virtual versions of famous tracks, such as the Circuit of the Americas and Laguna Seca.

Velocity's lounge space will be designed with nods to global car and motorcycle culture, featuring four custom racetrack-themed chandeliers and rare motorcycles on display.

The food and drink menu is inspired by the motorsports world with flavors from Japan, Europe and North America. According to the release, it intends to reflect racing’s global appeal and heritage.
