Nine of the top 50 best-selling master planned communities in the country call Houston home, according to the mid-year Top-Selling Master-Planned Communities Report by RCLCO, a real estate consultant firm.

The nine Houston locations amounted to 17.4% of the total sales among the top 50 communities. The rankings are based on total new home contracts as reported by each community, Community impact previously reported.

According to the report, here is how RCLCO ranked the communities:In total, the Houston metro contributed over 3,129 of the 17,978 sales to the top 50 list, according to the report, with Sunterra in Katy leading Houston at 543 sales.

Across the board, sales are down when compared to last year. Sunterra and Tavola in New Caney saw the most loss among Houston communities, both having over 30% less sales than the previous year.

The exception is Cypress Green, which saw a 172% jump in sales, going from 71 in 2024 to 193 sales so far this year.
