The two-story charter school located west of the Grand Parkway will span more than 81,000 square feet with a gymnasium, outdoor basketball court and soccer fields, according to a project filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. All details submitted to TDLR are subject to change.
The expansion marks phase two of Harmony’s Bridgeland project. The first phase consisted of a 58,000-square-foot elementary school, which welcomed its inaugural class of students in August, according to previous Community Impact reporting.
Construction on the middle and high school facility is scheduled to begin in August and wrap up in time for the 2028-29 academic year, officials confirmed. They said funding sources include bonds and private funds provided by several foundations.
Harmony Science Academy Bridgeland is part of the Harmony Public Schools, a charter system with 60 Texas campuses and more than 45,000 students enrolled, per its website.
Local interest in charter schools is on the rise, per previous Community Impact reporting. Approximately 7,355 students transferred out of CFISD for the 2024-25 academic year to enroll in education alternatives, including charter schools, private schools and virtual programs.
Harmony Science Academy Bridgeland has approximately 650 students enrolled in prekindergarten through sixth grade, Community Impact previously reported. Officials said the new middle and high school campus will serve approximately 850 students.
