Baker replaces CFISD Chief of Staff Teresa Hull, who is retiring from the district effective Dec. 31. Hull joined CFISD in 1993 and was promoted to chief of staff in 2011, per the district’s website.

Baker was promoted to PfISD’s chief of staff in 2022 and worked with CFISD Superintendent Doug Killian when he served as superintendent of the Austin-area school district. Killian moved to CFISD from PfISD in 2024, according to Community Impact.
Before her appointment as chief of staff in 2022, Baker served as PfISD’s chief academic and innovation officer for four years, where she oversaw academic systems and district instructional programing, according to the news release.
Looking back
Baker began her career as a high school math and science teacher in Austin and brings 24 years of education experience to her new CFISD position, per the release. Her background also includes:
- Instructional technology specialist for the Texas Youth Commission
- Associate principal and school improvement facilitator at Johnston High School in Austin ISD
- Principal in Hutto ISD, serving at Hutto High School, River Horse Academy and the Disciplinary Alternative Education Program
- Assistant superintendent of school support in HISD
Baker served in the U.S. Air Force in a medical role prior to her education experience, per the release.
