On Oct. 6, the Cy-Fair ISD board of trustees approved the construction proposal for a $6.1 million renovation project at Bridgeland High School, funded by a 2019 bond, officials said.

What we know

According to district documents, the scope of work for the renovation includes:
  • New orchestra rehearsal hall and practice rooms
  • Two new art classrooms
  • A recoating of the track surface
  • An outdoor athletics storage building
  • Safety and security upgrades across the campus
The board authorized Houston-based contractor Dunhill Development and Construction to oversee the project, documents show. The firm has completed projects for several school districts in the Greater Houston area, per its website.

All CFISD campuses were impacted by the $1.7 billion bond approved in 2019, CFISD Chief Operating Officer Matt Morgan told Community Impact on Oct. 16. Many of them received similar security enhancements, fine arts additions and improvements to athletic facilities, he said.

The Bridgeland High School renovation will begin this fall and is set to finish by August 2026, Morgan said.
