The Grand Prairie, a master-planned community in Hockley, announced Shea Homes would be joining the development as a homebuilder in an Oct. 21 news release.

The big picture

Development on The Grand Prairie is overseen by EMBER, a Houston-based real estate investment and development firm. Shea Homes joins a number of homebuilders who have already begun work in the community, including David Weekley Homes, Lennar, Perry Homes, Sitterle Homes, Village Builders and Westin Homes.

“We are extremely excited to welcome Shea Homes into the community. Shea Homes and EMBER share similar visions about how communities should be developed and what matters most: the residents that call our communities, like The Grand Prairie, home. We look forward to working together for years to come,” EMBER Director of Development Joe Grabinski said.

Shea Homes will be building single-family homes ranging from 2,438 to 4,117 square feet with a variety of personalizable options, such as fireplaces and extended patios.

“The unique blend of natural beauty and thoughtful design at The Grand Prairie reflects EMBER’s commitment to exceptional living,” said Keith Luechefeld, Shea Homes Houston division president. “It’s the perfect setting for the kind of discerning buyers who choose Shea Homes.”
