Harris County Precinct 3 is re-evaluating plans for the widening of Telge Road from Louetta Road to north of the Grand Parkway with additional safety elements. The project was previously within Harris County Precinct 4's jurisdiction before redistricting and included widening Telge to four lanes, improved drainage, and new or upgraded traffic signals at several intersections.
Officials with Precinct 3 said the existing two-lane asphalt road and roadside ditches will be replaced with a four-lane concrete boulevard and raised median with an underground storm sewer system. Intersection improvement and traffic signal projects at the Boudreaux Road and Grant Road intersections of Telge have been initiated as well to alleviate traffic congestion in the area.
Construction for Segment 4—the portion that extends from Louetta to north of Telge Ranch Road—is slated to run from the fourth quarter of 2023 to the third quarter of 2024 for $7.6 million. Construction on Segment 5, from north of Telge Ranch to north of Grant Road, is expected to begin in the third quarter of 2024 and run through the third quarter of 2026.
Phase 1 was completed by Precinct 4 in 2019 from Spring Cypress Road to Louetta.
