Multiple Jersey Village streets and parks are undergoing work funded by the city’s $33.8 million bond—passed in November—or will be considered under the city’s fiscal year 2024-25 budget, which is set to be considered Aug. 19.

Check out the status of some of the city’s biggest projects below, which includes information received in a July 25 email from Assistant City Manager Robert Basford.

1. Clark Henry Park multipurpose fields

New sports fields will be installed at Clark Henry Park after feedback was gathered through community town hall meetings. The design will allow multiple groups to play at one time with temporary fencing that can be moved for various sports.
  • Timeline: Construction would begin in 2025, pending council approval
  • Location: Clark Henry Park, Equador St., Jersey Village
  • Cost: About $1.3 million
  • Funding source: FY 2024-25 capital improvement projects budget
2. Carol Fox Park playground

A new ocean-themed playground set will be installed at this park after community feedback was gathered during town hall meetings, according to Basford’s email. The project would be part of the city’s FY 2024-25 budget, which will go before Jersey Village City Council for approval Aug. 19.

  • Cost: About $900,000

3. Congo Lane project


Designed by GarzaEMC, this project includes renovating the street, sidewalks, storm sewer water line and street lamps, according to the Jersey Village city website. City Council awarded Environmental Allies the bid to work on this project. Construction is ongoing.
  • Timeline: June-mid-June 2025
  • Location: Congo Lane from Senate Avenue to Equador Street
  • Cost: $2.95 million
  • Funding source: 2023 bond
4. Solomon and Australia streets projects

These renovations—which include new pavement, sidewalks, storm sewer, water line and street lamps—are being designed by Gauge Engineering, according to Basford’s email.
  • Timeline: construction/bidding to begin in mid- to late 2025
  • Location: Solomon and Australia streets, Jersey Village
  • Cost: $5.5 million
  • Funding source: 2023 bond
5. Singapore Lane and Seattle Street projects

New pavement, sidewalks, street lamps, storm sewer and water line will be added to the streets, according to Basford’s email. These projects are being designed by Westwood Engineering.
  • Timeline: TBD; will be worked on after Solomon Street project is completed.
  • Location: Singapore Lane and Seattle Street, Jersey Village
  • Cost: $5 million
  • Funding source: 2023 bond
