Both campus plans have the capacity for 1,092 students and feature space for up to eight future portable buildings and an optional addition of four pre-K classrooms—amounting to total capacities of 1,532 students at each site. Each wing or pod of classrooms may be isolated for security purposes and features outdoor learning spaces and flexible spaces indoors.
Texas-IBI Group designed Elementary School No. 57, which mimics surrounding architecture in the Parkland Village neighborhood and nearby Dragonfly Park. Construction is slated to begin in late April or early May and open to students in August 2022.
PBK Architects handled the design work for Elementary School No. 58, which is slated to break ground in September and open in August 2023.
Construction contracts on both projects are set to be awarded later this spring. See the full presentation from both architecture firms here.
