With the opening of Memorial Hermann's Cypress Hospital, development at the Fairfield Town Center and the construction of several other churches, retail centers and health care facilities, land along Hwy. 290 near the Grand Parkway is going fast. The Harris County Appraisal District's parcel viewer tool provides some insight into who owns some of the remaining undeveloped properties in the area. Costco Wholesale Corporation and Pappas Restaurants Inc. are among the land owners around Mueschke Road, but no plans have been released for if or when anything will be built. Pappas is listed as having owned its parcel of land since 2013, but officials did not respond to questions about future plans for the land. Meanwhile, Costco has been listed as the owner of its parcel since 2015. When asked about plans, officials said it is company policy to not comment on future locations. Most of the land on the south side of Hwy. 290 is listed under the ownership of developer Mason Westgreen, who is tied to the future master-planned community Dunham Pointe. Archie Dunham, chairman emeritus of Chesapeake Energy and former CEO of Conoco Inc., announced plans for the community last fall. Two separate tracts just east of the Grand Parkway are owned by the North Cypress Medical Center and Richfield Investments. Richfield manages Richfield Homes and is the developer behind the Terra Del Sol community in Houston. No development plans have been announced. An interactive map below shows existing structures along Hwy. 290 along with land owners for various tracts.
