Officials in Cy-Fair ISD reported 88 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on campuses from March 29-April 4, including 24 staff members and 64 students across the district. This is a slight uptick from the previous week’s 73 cases, amounting to 161 total cases confirmed in the two weeks following spring break.

This brings the district’s total number of cases reported since the start of the 2020-21 school year to 3,606. As of April 5, CFISD reported 105 active cases and 3,501 recoveries.

The Texas Education Agency requires public school districts throughout the state to submit a weekly report detailing the number of test-confirmed COVID-19 cases among students and employees who participate in any on-campus activity. This data does not include students learning remotely and may not include those who test positive while in quarantine if they were not on campus during their infectious period.

Weekly data is shown below, and campus-specific data can be found here.

CFISD students and staff members who are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms are eligible for free rapid testing services at the site where Windfern High School was formerly located, 12630 Windfern Road, Houston, on weekdays from 7 a.m.-4 p.m.

A student ID or employee badge is required to receive a test, and students under the age of 18 must have parent or guardian consent. Appointments are required for students only. See additional requirements here.
