Walmart officials said the national retailer will open its new Cypress location April 30 at 7:30 a.m.

What's happening

Ahead of the grand opening, the walk-in fuel station opened April 16 and is holding a fundraiser for local schools April 21-29. The following schools will receive up to $2,500 each through 10% of proceeds from fuel and merchandise purchases:

• Cypress Ranch High School: April 21-22
• Cypress Springs High School: April 23-24
• Bridgeland High School: April 28-29

Anyone who purchases gas from the Walmart fuel station through April 29 will be given a complimentary coffee, ICEE or fountain drink while supplies last.

Community Impact previously reported the new Walmart will be a 203,790-square-foot building featuring a full grocery offering; online pickup and delivery operations; apparel, baby, home and pet departments; a pharmacy with a drive-thru; a vision center; and an auto care center.
