Senior living community Village on the Park Steeplechase will celebrate its grand opening on Aug. 7 following a year of renovations. The facility has been in Jersey Village for over 20 years and recently revamped its independent living cottages.

The details

The senior living center sits on 13 "park-like" acres and offers independent living, assisted living and memory care, according to its website. The grand opening celebration is free and open to the public and will include live music, food, raffle prizes and a tour of the community from 5-7 p.m.
