The gist
The ESD 9 board approved CFFD's latest real estate updates during its regular October meeting, including a soon-to-be closed land sale for the new Station 19 positioned west of the Grand Parkway near Waller County.
The exact address and cost of Station 19 land are not public as of press time.
The department also closed on the sale for the old Station 6 property at 6404 N. Eldridge Parkway, Houston, a representative overseeing the agreement said during the meeting. CFFD relocated Station 6 to a new building in May, located at 12344 West Little York Road, Houston, to allow for better coverage of the community, according to the department’s social media.

The board will publicly interview attorneys Nov. 20 as part of its search to replace the district’s legal counsel. An attorney from law firm Coveler & Peeler is currently advising ESD 9 after the district’s former counsel, Mills Shirley, abruptly resigned Oct. 19, according to previous Community Impact reporting.
The department’s request for qualifications for legal services will close Nov. 6, and select candidates will be invited to participate in the interview process, officials said.
The next regular board meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. Nov. 20 at the ESD 9 Administration Building, located at 10710 Telge Road, Houston.
