The Jersey Village City Council will take up a routine list of agenda items pertaining to city maintenance, potential real estate exchanges and appointment of public officers at its Sept. 15 regular meeting.

What you need to know

The meeting is set to open with a public hearing on the potential adoption or reauthorization of permitting and inspection-related fees for city construction and renovation projects. The fees must be reauthorized by the city at least once every 10 years, per state law.

According to the agenda, council members will also:
  • Consider appointing a new health officer for the city
  • Appoint candidates to be placed on the ballot for a position on the Harris County Central Appraisal District board of directors
  • Discuss appointing a new municipal court associate judge
  • Consider releasing certain property from the city’s extraterritorial jurisdiction
  • Discuss authorizing a contract with Brandstetter Carroll Inc. for design services for the city pool
Also on the agenda

The council will meet in executive session to deliberate:
  • Possible purchase, exchange or sale of property
  • Appointment of public officers to various city boards and committees
  • The fiscal year 2025-26 compensation budget for the city manager and city secretary
