The details
The approval allows the city to continue its next step toward replacing the current City Hall located on Lakeview Drive. The agreement includes schematic design, design development, construction documents and construction administration phases, according to the agenda.
“As part of our ongoing efforts to deliver a modern, functional City Campus, we’re bringing forward this contract,” City Manager Austin Bleess said. “We’ve been engaged with them in the earlier phases of the project. ... Their performance to date has been strong, demonstrating an understanding of the city’s needs, goals and budgetary constraints.”
The contract sets the base fee at 7.2% of the final construction cost, currently estimated at $1.24 million, plus $159,825 in supplemental services, according to the agenda.
The full City Campus project is projected at $21.6 million, Bleess said.
The project will involve renovation and partial demolition of the former church property acquired by the city in 2024, as previously reported by Community Impact.
Also of note
The council also approved the publication of notices of intent for two new certificates of obligation—one for up to $24 million for the City Campus project and one for up to $20 million for future water and sewer infrastructure upgrades identified in the city’s Capital Improvement Plan.
