It's officially October, which means it's time to sport the color pink. National Breast Cancer Awareness Month runs Oct. 1-31 to honor those affected by breast cancer and raise awareness about the disease.

Communities across Greater Houston show up each year with an abundance of events in support, many of which aim to raise money for breast cancer research, care and education. This list is not comprehensive.

National Black Breast Cancer Summit

Organized by Sisters Network, the 2025 National Black Breast Cancer Summit features a variety of workshops about breast cancer screening, prevention, treatment and more.Pink Pumpkin Painting

Kid Scholars Academy, a child care center and preschool in Sugar Land, will host a pumpkin painting event for children and parents in support of breast cancer awareness.Susan G. Komen Houston Race for the Cure


Lace up for a community 5K, or 3.1 miles, along Allen Parkway to support breast cancer research and care services. Participants may run or walk, with a 1-mile option available.

Grace Walk and Health Fair

Saving TaTa’s at The Table


The Conroe Professional Firefighters Association, the local chapter of the International Association of Firefighters, will host a fundraiser benefitting women who undergo reconstruction after breast cancer surgery.
