In a nutshell
District policy and student conduct revisions are standard practice ahead of a new academic year, and the board has a packed agenda to address. Potential revisions to CFISD policies include:
- Instructional resources - library materials
- Academic achievement - grading and progress reports to parents
- Parent rights and responsibilities, which includes the district’s pronoun policy
- Compensation and benefits - leaves and absences
- Miscellaneous instructional policies - teaching about controversial issues
Also on the agenda
The board will consider approval of the 2025-26 student code of conduct dictating prohibited behavior and disciplinary authority.
Trustees are also scheduled to review a potential resolution to declare a “good cause exception” for the state’s armed security officer requirement, which may be submitted if a district lacks available funding or qualified personnel to comply with the law.
