A Maryland-based children’s gymnastics academy will soon open its first Texas facility in Jersey Village.

Dominique Dawes Academy specializes in competitive and recreational gymnastics for children up to 13 years old, according to its website. Former Olympic gymnast Dominique Dawes founded the academy in 2020 to create a positive and supportive environment for children interested in gymnastics, per the website.

Classes offered include:
  • Recreational gymnastics, ages 6-13
  • Gymnastics for homeschooled kids, ages 4-13
  • Junior gymnastics, ages 9 months-6 years
  • Competitive gymnastics, ages 5 and older
  • Ninja classes, ages 4-13
According to the academy’s website, ninja classes consist of obstacle courses inspired by the television show "American Ninja Warrior." The facility will also host seasonal camps, birthday parties and open gym play, per the website.

The Jersey Village gym will open its doors in early 2026, according to the website, but an exact opening date has not been announced as of press time.


One more thing

The gymnastics school also has plans to expand its Houston-area presence to Spring by early 2027, according to Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation records. Construction is set to begin at the new facility at 19750 I-45, Spring in early February, per the TDLR filing.
