Two individuals have been sworn in as commissioners for the Montgomery County Veterans Commission: Magnolia ISD Trustee Kelly McDonald and Margie Taylor, founder of Taylorized PR, a public relations firm.

In addition to her position on the school board, McDonald serves as a representative for the Texas Association of School Boards; Commissioner of the Montgomery County Housing Authority, Precinct 2; and a member of the National School Board Association. She is also the president of the Rotary Club of Magnolia.

Prior to establishing Taylorized PR, Taylor served in various roles at Community Assistance Center, the Montgomery County Food Bank and Montgomery County Youth Services.

The pair were sworn in by Jimmie Williams, the chairman of the commission.

In other news, the Montgomery County Veterans Memorial Park is expected to receive $7 million in state funding to go towards a visitors education center and a memorial.
