Family Promise of Montgomery County is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year as well as a "renovation celebration," similar to a groundbreaking, June 3 for its new guest center, located at 109 Commercial Circle, Conroe. The nonprofit organization empowers homeless families with children to transition out of homelessness and into stability in 90 days. Family Promise provides shelter, transportation, food, day care and emotional support.
With the new guest center, the organization will be able to host six families at one time at the center overnight instead of relying on congregations and hotels for overnight shelter, according to Executive Director Marilyn Kasmiersky.
