Evergreen is opening eight model homes April 15-30 for the public to begin touring the new master-planned community near the intersection of Hwy. 242 and FM 1314. Builder and developer Shea Homes broke ground on the 740-acre community Sept. 28, according to previous Community Impact coverage.

Keith Luechtefeld, Houston division president for Shea Homes and developer of Evergreen, said he has been excited about opening up the model homes since they broke ground.

“All eight models are ready, professionally decorated and showcase what each builder has to offer,” Luechtefeld said in an April 12 news release. “And with all of them together in a model home park, it will be easy for the public to tour each one, enjoy the activities and spend the day.”

The model homes were built by Perry Homes, Chesmar Homes and Shea Homes. Chesmar Homes and Perry Homes have two models open each in Evergreen with the remaining four homes from developer Shea Homes.

Pricing starts in the low $300,000s, according to the release. The community is planned for more than 2,000 homesites with 247 properties developed in the first phase.

“We've had tremendous interest already,” Luechtefeld said. “Homes sales started before model homes had even opened, and nearly 300 Realtors RSVP'd to attend a special sneak peek we had planned before the public grand opening.”

The release said Evergeen will have approximately 100 acres devoted to parks, green space and amenities. Signature amenities will include a creek with amenities that traverses the property, a modern recreation center, and additional areas devoted to open space and trails.

The Trail of Homes grand opening will kick off April 15 at16333 Sheridan River Trail. The grand opening event will include activities such as building a birdhouse, a s'mores station, slushies and popsicles, a lemonade stand, a photo booth, and a free succulent shop. Throughout the tour, visitors can also register to win $5,000.

After the event, model homes will be open to tour 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and noon to 6 p.m. Sundays. For more information, visit www.evergreen-texas.com.
