The Montgomery County Tax Office has extended its office hours as the deadline to pay property taxes approaches, according to a press release Jan. 16.

Montgomery County Tax Assessor-Collector Tammy McRae said in the press release all five tax offices will extend their hours to 7 a.m.-6 p.m. Jan. 29-31 for residents to pay their taxes in person. The deadline to pay property taxes is Jan. 31.

Residents can also pay online with e-Checks or debit or credit cards at, according to the press release. All payments submitted in the mail must be postmarked or received by or before Jan. 31 or face a penalty. Residents can also pay by phone by calling 1-800-351-7929. For residents paying in person, McRae recommended scheduling an appointment ahead of time for The Woodlands and Conroe office.

The tax office is open 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. every weekday to assist taxpayers.
