1. Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital
The hospital system opened the Houston Methodist Comprehensive Care Center in Creekside on April 11 at 26424 Strake Drive, Spring, in a two-story, 32,000-square-foot building. It includes space for specialties such as cardiology, endocrinology, neurology and more.
The facility includes a new ambient listening technology, which will be used to help keep track of medical notes so the team can focus on the patient, officials said.
2. Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Medical Center
The hospital plans to open its Medical Plaza 5 building in July. The first tenants will include the hospital’s The Institute of Rehabilitation and Research outpatient program, hospital officials said.
The new facility will provide first floor access for all patients as well as expanded space for services, according to the hospital system. It also includes full pediatric therapy programs and expands neuropsychology services to pediatrics.
3. St. Luke’s Health-The Woodlands
St. Luke’s Health has awarded $1.5 million in grants to nonprofit agencies serving underserved communities this year, according to a news release.
Around the Conroe area, grants include:
- April 15: Interfaith Community Clinic, $75,000
- April 21: Compassion United, $67,000
- May 12: Angel Reach, $30,000
- May 28: The Rose, $25,000
The hospital began offering a Behavioral Health Intensive Outpatient Program in 2024 to provide support and serve adolescents age 12-17 who struggle with depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts and emotion regulation difficulties, according to information from the hospital.
Services through this program reflects the needs of adolescents and include skills-focused groups, individual therapy, family therapy, music and mindfulness based interventions as well as caregiver support, medication management and discharge planning. Adolescents attend therapy three days a week and generally spend between six to eights weeks in the program, according to the hospital.
5. HCA Houston Healthcare Conroe
The hospital received certified Comprehensive Stroke Center designation from DNV Healthcare USA Inc. in January, the highest level of certification for stroke care, meaning the hospital can handle the most complex stroke cases 24/7.
It was also awarded Magnet designation with distinction from the American Nurses Credentialing Center. The Conroe campus is the first hospital in the HCA Healthcare system as well as the fifth in the state of Texas to earn the Magnet designation with distinction, according to HCA. The status is awarded to health care organizations based on nursing processes and patient care.
6. Cornerstone Specialty Hospitals Conroe
In the past year, the long-term acute care hospital has earned hospital and laboratory accreditation from The Joint Commission. It has also expanded its neurology services to support local trauma centers, added a wound-care service line with a new physician specialist, and added a pulmonary director to support its ventilator-weaning program.
In addition, Helen Johnson was named Cornerstone Conroe’s new chief operating officer/chief clinical officer.
