Conroe City Council is set to meet Dec. 11 to consider items including the next operating and capital budget for the Hyatt Regency Conroe Hotel and Convention Center and potential changes to how much organizers pay to close city streets, according to the agenda.

The overview

Council will discuss and consider the proposed fiscal year 2025-26 operating and capital budget for the Hyatt Regency Conroe Hotel and Convention Center. The hotel project is overseen by the Conroe Local Government Corp., which manages the city-owned facility on behalf of the city.

Council is also set to discuss and consider permit fees for street closures, which affect parades, festivals and other events that require blocking city streets.

Council will also consider awarding a contract for a new mobile fare ticketing system for Conroe Connection’s commuter bus and fixed-route transit services. According to agenda documents, staff recommend awarding the contract to Matawan Mobility LLC for a three-year term—with two one-year extension options—at a total cost of $238,584, with 80%, or $190,867, reimbursable through a federal grant. The net cost to the city would be $47,716.

Also on the agenda
