Can you share a bit about your professional background and what experiences have best prepared you to lead the city of Montgomery?

I’ve spent my career in municipal administration and finance, working in city management, budgeting, and infrastructure planning. This experience gives me a practical understanding of how to balance community needs with sound financial management.

What inspired you to take on this leadership role, and what values or priorities guide your approach to public service?

I was drawn to Montgomery by the chance to support a growing, engaged community. I approach public service with transparency, accountability, and collaboration, focusing on decisions that benefit residents today and in the long term.

Since stepping into office, what have you learned about Montgomery’s biggest strengths and challenges that may have surprised you?

Montgomery’s biggest strength is its community—people care about their city and are willing to be involved. What’s become clear is that rapid growth requires careful planning in areas like roads, utilities, and development to maintain quality of life.

With Montgomery’s rapid development, how do you plan to balance continued growth with the city’s infrastructure capacity—particularly around water, roads and utilities?

We’re focusing on long-term planning and coordination to ensure infrastructure keeps pace with growth. This includes water, roads, and utilities, so residents continue to have reliable services as the city expands.

What are your top budget priorities for the coming year, and how do they reflect your long-term vision for the city’s sustainability?

My top priorities are infrastructure, public safety, and essential services. My municipal finance background helps ensure that investments are sustainable, addressing long-term needs while maintaining fiscal responsibility.

How do you plan to collaborate with Montgomery County and neighboring cities on shared challenges such as transportation and water resources?

We work closely with Montgomery County and neighboring cities on shared challenges like transportation and water management. Collaboration allows us to pool resources and implement solutions that work across the region.

Is there anything else you would like to add?

Montgomery is growing quickly, and my focus is making sure growth is managed responsibly. By planning carefully, engaging the community, and prioritizing long-term sustainability, we can keep Montgomery a great place to live.
