A boil water notice is in effect for the city of Willis as of Sept. 11 due to a mechanical failure in the city’s disinfection system, city officials announced in a Sept. 11 news release.
What you need to know
All customers on the city’s water system are instructed to boil water before using it for things such as washing hands, brushing teeth or drinking, according to the news release. The water should be brought to a rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes.
People can also use bottled water for drinking or other purposes, according to the news release. When the boil water notice is lifted, the city will notify customers.
