Conroe City Council will host a special meeting at 10 a.m. Aug. 9 to discuss and consider a memorandum of understanding agreement with Willis ISD concerning providing out-of-city services and other related matters, according to the agenda.

The details

According to the agenda item, council will deliberate on providing city services such as water to WISD’s new campus, Calfee Middle School, which is located outside the city limits.

The process may be similar to the city of Montgomery's approval of an MOU with BCS Capital Development, which outlined a cost-sharing agreement for infrastructure improvements, as previously reported.

How we got here

The city of Conroe shut off water to the middle school ahead of its opening Aug. 13, as previously reported. City officials cited unresolved issues related to a development agreement between the city and the district.
