Conroe residents will have a second opportunity to weigh in on possible changes to the city’s charter during a July 28 town hall hosted by city staff.

The details

The meeting will allow residents to share their thoughts and concerns about the city’s governing document, according to the city’s website.

As previously reported, the charter functions as the city’s constitution, outlining powers, duties and organizational structure of Conroe’s local government, according to the charter.

City staff hosted the first town hall July 17, where residents voiced concerns about spending, government transparency and future growth.

Diving in deeper

Citizens are also able to complete a form to voice their concerns and share thoughts, which will go to city officials, as per the city’s website.

Any proposed charter changes must go before Conroe City Council before being placed on a ballot for voter consideration in a future election.
