Six upcoming free workshops are being held by the Montgomery County Tax Assessor-Collector’s Office and Montgomery Central Appraisal District to provide information on property tax assessments, exemptions, payment options, protest procedures and deadlines.

The workshops are designed to educate and assist taxpayers in understanding the property tax process, according to a March 10 news release.

“Our goal is to provide property owners with the knowledge and resources they need to navigate the property tax process with confidence,” Tammy McRae, Montgomery County Tax Assessor-Collector said via news release. “These workshops are a great opportunity for taxpayers to get their questions answered and learn about potential exemptions and payment options available to them.”

The details

The in-person workshops will last about an hour and a half, and attendees are encouraged to bring their property taxes and any other relevant documents, according to the release. The dates and locations include:
  • April 8 at 6 p.m. at North Montgomery County Community Center, 600 Gerald St., Willis
  • April 15 at 6 p.m. at Woodforest–The Palms, 251 Central Pine St., Montgomery
  • April 22 at 6 p.m. at East Montgomery County Senior Center, 21679 McCleskey Road, New Caney
  • May 1 at 6 p.m. at Lone Star College Star Ballroom, 5000 Research Forest Drive, The Woodlands
  • May 6 at 6 p.m. at Magnolia Community Center, 422 Melton St., Magnolia
  • May 8 at 6 p.m. at Montgomery Central Appraisal District, 109 Gladstell St., Conroe
