The Union Pacific Railroad company is planning work on a number of railroad crossings across South Montgomery County as part of an overall maintenance project in January which will cause a number of road closures and delays.
What you need to know
In a social media post from Precinct 3 Commissioner Ritch Wheeler, the office provided a list of roads which will be closed for work replacing railroad ties and resurfacing roadways at crossings. The roads to be closed include:
- Jan. 11: Robinson Road and Woodson Road
- Jan. 12: Cox Road and Trade Center Parkway
- Jan. 13: Tamina Road
- Jan. 14: Hwy. 242, eastbound and westbound
- Jan. 21: FM 1488 (east of I-45)
- Jan. 22: Rayford Road Access
- Jan. 23: Richards Road and River Plantation Drive
According to officials with Union Pacific, work crews will aim to have tie replacements done each day.
