The Montgomery Central Appraisal District is set to host a series of property tax workshops throughout Montgomery County.
What’s happening?
Tammy McRae, the Montgomery County tax assessor-collector, and the county's Chief Appraiser Janet Jennings-Doyle will host a series of property tax workshops from 6-7:30 p.m. on:
- April 2 at Lone Star College, Star Ballroom, 5000 Research Forest Drive, The Woodlands
- April 4 at the East Montgomery County Senior Center, 21679 McCleskey Road, New Caney
- April 9 at the North Montgomery County Community Center, 600 Gerald St., Willis
- April 15 at the West Montgomery County Community Center, 31355 Friendship Drive, Magnolia
- April 16 at The Palm, 251 Central Pine St., Montgomery
At these workshops, McRae and Jennings-Doyle will discuss topics such as:
- The property tax system
- Real estate trends
- The 2024 notice of appraised value
- The right to protest and the deadline
- Tax rates
- Payment options and deadlines
What else?
According to the workshop flyer, attendees will also have the opportunity to have their exemption processed on-site as long as they bring their driver’s license and documents to support exemption, such as:
- Letter granting disability benefits from the U.S. Social Security Administration
- Letter granting veterans disability benefits from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs
- A completed exemption form (blank forms will be available at the workshop)
