Margaritaville Lake Resort presents its second annual Halloween Adventure with activities spanning from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Activities include pumpkin painting at 1 p.m., a family costume contest at 3 p.m., a Halloween Bar Crawl for guests age 21 and older beginning at 7:30 p.m., a movie screening at 8 p.m., and an adult costume contest for guests age 16 and older at 9 p.m. Guests can book a room and see the full activity list here. Trick or Treat Historic Montgomery includes more than 40 businesses, who will open their doors for trick-or-treating to children in costumes and accompanied by adults. The event garnered about 3,000 children in 2020, according to a release from the city. The event also includes a DJ, costume contest and activities at many businesses. 1-4 p.m. Free. Saturday, Oct. 30

CASA Child Advocates of Montgomery County hosts its annual Superhero Run/Walk and Fall Festival for runners, walkers, children and families to enjoy. Participants are encouraged to dress as their favorite superhero for the event, which includes 5K and 10K runs. Awards will be given. In addition, this year's event debuts the Trail of Treats, in which participants can walk around a lake and collect treats at various stations. A fall festival will also feature face painting, a petting zoo, a train, a balloon artist, food and drinks, crafts, a photo area, and a vendor fair. 7:30 a.m. (races begin), 9 a.m. (trail of treats, festival begin). Cost varies by running event, $10 (per child admission to trail of treats and fall festival).
